I first heard of ezArticleLink through an internet marketer I know. He suggested that I submit some articles to the site to build some backlinks to an article on my detox blog to help me get on page 1 of Google.

My traffic had dropped towards the end of last year and I wanted to get it back. I am sure you know that one of the best ways to get onto the first page of Google is to get a lot of good one way backlinks.

I didn’t do anything about it at the time as I had other things on my to do list that took priority but when I saw a review of it on an internet marketing blog that a nutritionist friend of mine writes I took a bit more notice.

She discovered that one of her articles that she submitted to the system several months previously came up on the first page of Google when she searched for a fairly vague keyword phrase related to the article.

I also checked the Warrior Forum to see what people were saying about it. Several marketers said that they saw their sites move up in the search engines since they began to use the service.

So, I thought I would give it a try. I have only just submitted my first article so I can’t tell you what it has done for my rankings yet but let me explain the system.

What is ezArticleLink?

ezArticleLink was created by Kenneth Koh who has many years experience of SEO,  is the brains behind LeadsLeap and has a variety of other SEO and List Building resources.  It’s a an article directory but with a big difference.

The difference is that firstly you you have to create an article directory on your own domain. This is not at all difficult. All I had to do was create a new folder on my root domain and upload one file to it.

make money online

Secondly, I had to customise it so it looked like an article directory but once again this was easy to do. I just followed some video tutorials that Ken had created in the members area. It must be easy if I can do it!

Having set that up I had to submit it for approval which I got very quickly. They don’t want any crappy looking article directories in their system.

Article spinning with a difference

All I had to do then was write my article using my keywords, spin it using their special free spinning system and submit it to the system. You can link it to any page on your website. Once again I had to wait for approval as they won’t publish anything that does not read well.

If you have used some article spinning service out there you will know what I mean. Kenneth has developed a very clever spinner that will produce a high quality article spin. You can try it out free here:
Free Article Spinner

This can take some time, maybe 15 minutes,  but it is worth it for the end result. You can easily outsource this if you want. They will even have their own supply of outsourcers that will do it for you.

So what happens when your article is approved?

The ezArticleLink system will publish the different versions of the article to their article network that is growing all the time as people join the system. They then ping them and even build backlinks to those articles!

This means you get hundreds of one-way backlinks from different websites with just one article. You article can get read too by one of the more than one million visitors they get to the network a day. So there is chance that your links will be followed back to your web page.

There are 2 levels of membership.

The Silver level is free but you are only allowed 30 aticles per domain and your article will get posted on 100 – 200 of the directories in the system.

The Gold level currently costs $34 a month which is a special offer. The usual price is $49. If you are a gold member you are allowed unlimited articles and your articles get posted initially to 300 directories and then 0 – 5 a day so you get continuous backlinks to your site.

The great thing about this system is that your article gets published to the directories over a period of time and you can choose the speed if you want. This makes it look completely natural to Google and other search engines.

What are the drawbacks?

I have only seen one criticism of ezArticleLink and that is if, for any reason, you decide to remove any of  your directories from your domains then you will lose some of your backlinks.

The other possible one is that you will get articles posted on your directory that are not directly related to your domain. As the directory is entirely seperate it will not harm you at all.  You do have to provide a link to it somewhere on your home page.

I am not sure why you would want to do that but on the Warrior forum people were saying you might want to remove it if you were selling your site.

Will ezArticleLink help me get ranked in Google?

It has worked for others so I don’t see why it won’t for me but only time will tell. I will write another blog post about the results I am getting in a couple of months.

Making money on the internetEasy Click Mate has proved to be just the solution for managing my Clickbank affiliates that I had been searching for.

I wanted my detox eBook affiliates to be able to send their subscribers to my discount offer page but could not figure out the best way to do it.

Although I can have a number of different pages for the same product listed in my Clickbank account the hoplink that affiliates are provided with only goes to one landing page per account.

To provide them with another hoplink for my eBook offer page meant I would have to create another account.

I recently had an email from Brad Callen telling me about his new project iWriter. Brad is the brains behind the software Keyword Elite, SEO Elite and Affiliate Elite as well as a lot of other products and has a good reputation so I thought I would take a look.

iWriter is a site where you can get articles written very cheaply or get paid to write  articles.

Make money on the net

The thing that appealed to me was the fact that the articles are very cheap compared to a lot of other sites. But I did wonder about the quality. What do you get for your money?

Choose your writer quality

Writers are rated as basic, premium or elite so you can select the quality of the article.

Once you register at the site you can request articles of 150, 300, 500, 700 or 1000 words. A 500 word article written by a basic rated writer will set you back just $3.00. For a premium writer you will be charged $5.00 and $8 for an elite writer.

I decided that I would put them to the test. Not one to go overboard I just ordered one article of 500 words and selected a premium writer.

Order your article

Once I had funded my account I had to complete a description of the project, the category, article length, the grade of writer, my keywords, the tone of the article either friendly or formal, the purpose and finally any special instructions.

Make money on the net
When you have used the site for a while and you have found some writers that you like you can choose for your project to be submitted to them only.

I asked for my article to be written in short paragraphs with headings to make it easy to read. You get an email notification when your article is ready and I was surprised that mine was ready in a matter of hours.

This is fantastically quick as you have to wait at least 7 days at some sites for your articles.

Accept or reject

You have to review the article within 3 days and you have the option of accepting it or rejecting it. Unfortunately the writer had not taken any notice of my instuctions and had written a very long first paragraph with no headings.

I also noticed that she had only used my keyword in the article title and not at all in the body.

I assumed that as I was asked for my keyword the writer would automatically use the keyword throughout the article. Some of what she wrote was not true although I was not going to hold that against her but I had to reject the article.

I felt bad having to reject the first article I requested but there was just too much to rewrite myself had I accepted it. I did wondered if I would get some sort of black mark for this.

I have since read that the writer has to write a review of the requester to say if he approved the article quickly or not. Writers are told that it’s better to write for a requester with a good rating so they get paid quicker.

Writers  get paid 81% of the price of each article which I have read is good.  But it doesn’t seem like much to me especially for the lower word count ones.

I submitted a request for another article to be written, only this time I decided that it was better not to assume anything and requested that the keyword should be used at least twice in the article and once in the title.

The second article was done in no time at all and was written exactly as I had requested so I was happy to accept it. They all have to pass copyscape too so you know you have an original article.

Spin tags included

Each article that you receive also includes a separate text file containing your article with spin tags throughout the article.

If you spin articles for distribution to article syndication networks for backlinks this saves you time and money as most service charge between 2-10 dollars for “spin ready” articles. With iWriter you get them absolutely free.

I used them twice again but I had to reject the last one as well. I asked for an article to be written for my detox niche and the writer wrote one about detox for dogs!

It never ocurred to me to specify that my article should be about detox for humans. I had selected the Health & Fitness Category and not Pets so I had to reject it. I hope this is not going to be another black mark for me!

I requested a second article which again was delivered very quickly and was perfect. I had only selected a basic level writer this time as I wanted the article for spinning and distribution so it was good value for money.

I will continue to use iWriter and hope that the they can keep up the incredible speed of delivery and that they don’t put up the prices.

Have you used iWriter yet? If so,  what ws your experience?

I promised a while ago that I would report back on the result of my solo ad. I got my new squeeze funnel all set up so I decided just before Christmas that it was time to really test it out.

Generating free traffic to a squeeze page to build your list is all well and good but it takes time.

If you want a lot of traffic and hopefully subscribers ( if you have a compelling offer)  almost instantly then solo ads are the way to go.

Making Money Online with Exit Splash

Posted by: Sandy | Comments (3)

I have been using Exit Splash on one of my sales pages for about a year now and I have added it to several others recently so thought it was about time I wrote about it. Exit Splash provides a way of grabbing the traffic that is about to leave your site and is another great tool to help you make money online.

I am sure you have seen these message boxes that frequently appear when you go to leave a site that urge you to stay on the page for something special like a discount, free report or another enticing offer.

30 Day Traffic Flow Review

Posted by: Sandy | Comments (3)

I just had an email from Dave Nicholson about a new product 30 Day Traffic Flow from John Thornhill and Dave Whitworth.

John is a well known internet marketer from the UK and has a good reputation for excellent products. I had not come across Dave Whitworth before but he apparently increased the traffic to his cycling blog by  87% in 30 days using this system of free traffic generation he devised.

I am always looking for ways to increase traffic to my sites so it was a no brainer to take a look. And, at a prelaunch price of only $10 I just had to buy it.

making money onlineI have seen the Seven Link Challenge mentioned on blogs but I didn’t stay long enough to read what it was all about. Somehow I thought it was similar to the 100 blog challenge which I did last year and I couldn’t face doing that again right now.

But after reading more about it on Sergio Felix’s blog and leaving a comment he nominated me to join in the Challenge. See what happens when I open my big mouth!

So, I expect you are wondering what it is all about.

Wishing My Readers A Very Happy Christmas

Posted by: Sandy | Comments (9)

I hamaking money on the internetve just battled my way through 2 supermarkets and Marks & Spencer’s food section this morning trying to get what I wanted!  Why do they run out of things that you depend on getting?

I got out early to try to beat the rush but everyone else had the same idea! As usual people are piling their trolleys high with enough food to feed an army twice over.

I thought I was going to have a problem with the hand held self scan system in Waitrose again this morning. As their system crashed last week when I was going around the store with my scanner I was apparently “locked out” this morning and had to be “unlocked”.

I noticed that when I comment on some blogs I sometimes get an email message a few days later thanking me for it. I thought this was a really nice touch so started to investigate how I could do it too. According to several internet marketers I asked, the best WordPress plugin for this is the Thank Me Later Plugin.

The plugin is completely free from the WordPress Plugin Directory and works on WordPress versions 3.1 or higher. So, I thought I would give it a go. After all, what have I got to lose? It’s another chance to keep my name out there.
