7 Reasons Why You Need Your Own Info Product

What is the number one reason people get online everyday? The answer is simple – to look for information. 400 million searches per day are made through Google alone. This is an ideal opportunity for you to provide what people want  with your own info product.  When done correctly you can make money online with it.

This is the simplest kind of business there is. You create a product that provides information. And then sell it to people who are looking for that information. Pretty simple, wouldn’t you say?

How do you make it work?

In order to be successful you’ve got to provide information people want. So step one is to discover what kind of info people want. How do figure that out?

One very simple method is to do a little research. Visit answers.yahoo.com or various forums and see what kinds of questions people are asking. You want to find something a lot of people are asking about. Look for things that are causing people discomfort. Solve the problem for them by writing an info product on it.

If you’re concerned about creating  info products just think of them as a series of articles. Don’t try to write a whole ebook. Just write some articles.  When they are finished simply refine and expand on them and combine them into a single ebook.

If you don’t like to write  you can find someone to write articles for you on sites like oDesk, com or Guru.com

So what’s so important about having your own information product?

Here are the seven reasons

1. Runs on Autopilot

Once you have the site set up it runs pretty much on it’s own. You don’t have to ship anything. Your business is 100% digital. It’s like having your own automated cash machine.

2. Re-invention

After you’ve created a few ebooks. You can put together bigger more expensive information products. It’s very easy to package multiple ebooks together as one new one. And your new product will be able to carry a much higher sticker price. Your customers will gladly pay more for a single bigger ebook. Instead of several small ebooks.

3. Sell the resell rights

When you own the product, you can sell resell rights to it. Resell rights are very hot right now, because most people simply don’t have the time, money and effort it takes to create their own products. And the best part is you get to charge two to three time as much for these rights.

4. Re-purpose

Re-purpose your product by turning it into other products. Turn it into an ecourse.  Create a free report from it and give it away to build a list that you can sell other products to.

5. Leverage

You can also take parts of your ebook and turn it into smaller eBooks. Then use these to generate leads for the main product. You can make these low cost reports.  Or enter them as gifts into Giveaway Events.

You can even make these viral by allowing affiliates to give them away.

6. Affiliates

This is one of the biggest reasons of all. When you own your own products you can get other people to promote them for you. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a crowd of other people doing your marketing for you? You can’t do this unless you have your own product.

7. Joint ventures

Last, but definitely not least… Joint ventures are the biggest short cut to success. So, I’d say this is the most important reason to have you own products.

Summing it up

If you really want to make money online I think you will now see why you must have your own info product. So don’t waste any more time.

  • Go to answers.yahoo.com
  • Find out what people want to know
  • Start writing

The steps on how to write an ebook are really that easy. And in short time you’ll have the foundation for your own info product.

  1. Well that’s certainly food for thought! I am asked (on occasion) to write more on my blog about editing/proofreading techniques but I tend to use my blog as an escape from work.
If I put the information into an ebook then I can launch my own ‘info product’and have an ‘automated cash machine’?
I think might just go and start writing now 🙂

    Thanks

  2. Sandy you do a great job of summing up all the reasons to have at least one Information Product. The articles idea is spot on, and you can even use bits on third party sites to drive traffic to your site!

  3. Sandy, you are very right. One other point I’d make is that an ebook can be useful in building your reputation. You can start small, building a list of loyal followers and work up to something big you can sell to people who are essentially waiting for the product, which you have tailored to their needs.

  4. In my opinion one of the most effective, leveraged and profitable strategies is to create and sell your own information products. You can do either digital products or physical products or both.
