Would you put out a flyer for your business with no contact details?
I could not believe my eyes when I looked at a flyer that came through my letter box today for a local Farm Shop. I searched all over it for a street address or telephone number or website address but there was nothing.
The advert was telling me that they had free range meat, local hand made cheeses, gluten free sausages, fruit and vegetables, free range eggs, fresh baked bread, local honey, a variety of ready made desserts and mouth watering range of French pastries.
Well my mouth was certainly watering. Where can I get these things? Do they really want people to come to their shop? They certainly aren’t making it easy.
I still find it hard to believe that no one noticed that they had not included an address or telephone number before they sent it out.
It does not matter if you are online or offline it’s so important that people know how to contact you.
Have you ever gone to a sales page for a product and wanted to ask a question before you bought it only to find that there was no “contact us” link anywhere on the site? It’s so frustrating. It puts you off straight away. I wonder how many sales they lose because of this?
Now, I can understand that people don’t want to put their email address on a website because of getting spammed but it is easy enough to get over this problem by putting a contact form on your site instead.
For a WordPress blog you can get a variety of Contact Form plugins. It is very easy to create a customized form with Contact Form 7 plug in that also supports Akismet spam filtering.
When you are trying to make money online it’s just so important for your visitors to be able to contact you whatever you are selling and whatever type of site you have. Being easily contactable lets people know you are a real person. It’s part of building a relationship with potential customers and an important part of marketing.
It would be a good start if there is a good rapport with a customer. Thanks for sharing this post!
