When I first heard about Pinterest I could not see what all the fuss was about. Pinning pictures! Who’s got time for that? I had enough to do just trying to get traffic to my sites.
Then, I started hearing that Pinterest was the latest and greatest way to get traffic to affiliate products. I downloaded a few free ebooks and reports about marketing with Pinterest but I had more than enough projects on the go to even think about it.
Later I heard that Pinterest was clamping down on all these marketers who were spamming the site with their affiliate links but it was still good for getting traffic to your own sites.
I read in one of the books that you could get people on fiverr to create an account for you with ready made boards & pin. That sounded good to me and in the middle of last year I booked a fiverr gig that promised to create an account and pin at least 300 images related to my niche. All for just $5.00!
The seller got it all set up for me using a fictitious name. It looked great but because I had all these other projects on the go that took up mu time I never did anything with it.
Can you believe that it took me until the end of last year to actually get started with it? And that was all due to Non StoPinterest 2.0.
I can’t remember who sent me the email about it but I have to thank him as that was what got me started. Now I’m addicted!
More importantly, I have had an increase in traffic to my detox blog of 60%, of which 33% is coming from Pinterest.
I’ve been trying to increase my traffic to it since it dropped substantially last year following the Google algorithm changes. I never knew getting traffic could be so much fun!
I credit my success to what I’ve learned through Non StoPinterest 2.0. I joined initially as a free member but soon decided to upgrade, firstly, as an Elite member and then to the Pinner Circle.
Itβs a full blown membership site on how to pin, what to pin and a lot of secrets of successful pinning!
In the Non StoPinterst Elite Members area there are a total of 11 short videos. 6 getting started videos and 5 for more advanced stuff.
There is already a lot of good stuff in the Pinner Circle member’s area with more being added monthly.
So far the topics are Building your Brand, Affiliate Pinning (yes, there are ways to do it if you know how!) and Pinning for Profits.
I have learned a ton of cool tips through Non StoPinterst and the Facebook Group has been invaluable for getting my questions answered.
So, if you want a fun way to get more traffic to your site try Pinterest. But, don’t go hog wild pinning before you know the secrets! Maximise your presence with Non StoPinterest.
Do you pin? Has it increased your traffic? Share your experiences with my readers in the comments.
Hi Sandy,
I love Pinterest too (although I have to limit myself on it!)
Yes, I’m getting traffic from it but not a huge amount.
Guess I’d better look at your recommended resource π

Do you think there are still many user who don’t find Pinterest useful?
I think, many don’t actually see the real usage of Pinterest. How this site can help in their marketing plans. It’s actually one of the most interesting and exciting way of social media marketing.
Glad to hear that you’re having success with traffic to your site through Pinterest Sandy.
Like you, I didn’t see what all the fuss was about. I’ve created some boards but I never pin anything to them. I just forget because it’s not on my radar. I’ve taken a few courses and I “get” what they’re saying but I also know that I have a few sites that are really bringing me traffic so I tend to pay much more attention to them then spending my time learning something new.
I’m glad you’ve enjoyed this course and are having so much luck. I love hearing those stories. Yay!!!
Thanks for sharing and hope your week is going well.

Hi Sandy,
Great post on Pinterest! It’s turning into a huge place for traffic if you know how to work it. And it’s turning revenue for those doing it right, too!
Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten into Pinterest as I simply haven’t had the time. It’s on my to-do list for this year as I know it’s a growing presence on the web for traffic generation. Aaahh, the old to-do list. That’s an ever-growing list…. π
Thanks for sharing this great resource. I’ll definitely have to check it out as I did more into Pinterest in the coming months.
I hope you have a great end to the week!
~Barry
Hi Barry,
I know what you mean by not having the time. That’s why it took me so long to get into it. What we need is a VA!
I think you have to be very creative to get Pinterest to work for IM sites becuae people don’t go to Pinterest for that. I have looked at some of the boards in the IM/Make money online niche and they don’t have many followers.
Have great day.
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
I’m not much fond of Pinterest with the business perspectives but I love pinning images there and interact with fellow pinners actively π However I’m not yet consistent enough with it though. I go there when I can but get addicted once I landed.
I’ve found as I engage more on Pinterest it gives more exposure and bring some traffic for my blog π The interaction matters there as I believe and some of my friends get most of traffic from there as they consistently visit Pinterest and pin stuff over there along with others’ stuff that matters.
Glad to hear you have gain a lot of traffic after being through Non StoPinterest 2.0 and thanks for sharing your experience with it along with the link for it π
Cheers…
Hi Mayura,
It’s certainly addictive and can be time consuming especially if you click the image links and go back to the original page and start reading the post as I often do! It’s surprising how many good blogs I find that I did not know exist.
I think you have to be very creative to benefit from Pinterest if you are in the IM/ make money online niche. So far the boards I have found do not have many followers. It is all about interaction as you say and is yet another social network.
Hope you’ve had a successful week.
Sandy
I totally know where you are coming from. It does at first seem like something frivolous and a complete waste of time. But, isn’t always the way that internet marketers will find a way to use these things to get traffic and advertize their stuff?
By the way your comment ended up in my spam but I rescued it. Thanks for visiting.
Have a great week.
Sandy
Great information on Pinterest Sandy. I’ve heard about all the fuss on them, and like you I haven’t really investigated a whole lot. I did look into a short while ago, but I didn’t really get it. Maybe I’ll dig into it later when a get a “revelation” on it. But for now, I’ll stay pictureless.
Hi Sandy,
Great Information on Pinterest. I am glad you are having success with it.
I heard and read a lot of articles about how Pinterest is growing so fast and how it is a great source of traffic but I didn’t have the time to explore it enough. I just opened a business account and created some boards and pinned some images on the boards. I also created a board for my blog where I pin my blogs there every week. That’s about it.
Thanks Sandy for sharing this information with us and I hope I will find the time to dive more into this great networking site. Do you have any advice where to start?
Be Blessed,
Neamat
Hi Neamat,
You have made a great start. Have you verified your URL so it is clickable in your profile? That way you will get a backlink to your site.
Just pin and repin a few beautiful pictures every day and you should soon start to see some traffic. It’s a good idea to like and comment on other people’s images too especially those who have a lot of followers.
The best times to pin are said to be between 2pm – 4pm and 8pm -1am EST. The very best day is Saturday morning.
Hope you see an increase in your traffic.
Sandy
Hi Sandy,
Very interesting post. I have not tried Pinterest yet because I honestly do not have time for it. I have to figure out how to be more efficient with social media because I really know that I am missing a lot.
Take care,
Dita
Hi Dita,
Pinterest does not seem tp work so well for the IM niche because people do not want to be sold to there. It works well fo my detox niche as I can pin and repin pictures of food and they are one of the top categories that pinners like to repin.
You have to be very clever for it to work for IM I think.
Sandy
I do have a Pinterest account but have been too busy on Facebook/ Twitter to really play around with it for Traffic generation. I will be visiting your blog often to see if there is any possibility of picking up some techniques on Pinterest.
In fact all social media platforms are potential for a traffic source. These are all tools but ultimately it is up to use to be creative with the tools so that it can become an asset to us.
