Module 4 of Marc Milburn’s coaching course is all about building a list of subscribers. The first modules were about setting up our blogs which serve as half of our business hubs. Our subscriber lists will form the other half.
A lead magnet is something free that you offer as an incentive for people to subscribe to your email list. You have probably already downloaded a ton of free reports that you got this way and are now sitting on your hard drive. I know I have.
I suddenly realized that since I gave my blog a makeover I did not have a social share plugin. I had added the Twitter and Facebook follow me buttons at the top of my blog but I did not have any share buttons at the end of my posts.
Free Traffic & backlinks
Having a social sharing plugin is another way to get free traffic so I really need one. If by any chance someone shared one of my blog posts they liked and it, by some miracle, hit the front page of one of the sites then I could get a ton of traffic. Then there’s always the possibility that someone might refer to it on their blog and I would get some backlinks too. Well, I live in hope!
I’m back to blog hopping again! If you haven’t come across the term before it simply means blog commenting. You leave comments on other blogs as a way to get backlinks and traffic to your blog. Alex Jeffreys called it Oil Rig Hopping.
I must admit that although I tried to do it regularly when I first started this blog I have fallen by the wayside recently. I found it and still do quite difficult to find blogs with up to date, frequent posts that attracted traffic in this making money online niche. You can tell if they get a reasonable amount of traffic and if they are popular by the number of comments they get.
Well, this is my second blog post this week! My coach Marc Milburn’s say’s to post two or three times a week. There is no way I can manage 3 times a week so twice it will have to be.
When I first started this blog I only ever posted once a week. I simply did not have enough time to keep my Detox blog and my Natural Remedies Blog going and post on this blog more than once a week.
I did sometimes post twice a week but I used other people’s newsletters or articles that they let me have provided I included a link to their site.
I got to wondering how much the frequency of blog posting matters so did a bit of research on it. It seems that there is no easy answer.
In the introductory videos of Marc Milburn’s coaching course he talks about planning your internet marketing journey. All coaches talk about planning and setting goals and this as it is essential if you want to be successful at making money online.You have probably heard the saying “Fail to plan and you plan to fail”.
It’s quite true. If you are going on a journey somewhere you would plan it out in advance wouldn’t you. I mean, you wouldn’t just jump on any train in a station and hope you will arrive at the place you want to go to now would you?
When I originally started this blog I had always meant to change the design at some stage – sooner rather than later, but I ‘m afraid it’s much later!
My coach at the time said not to deliberate too long over choosing a theme but just get something started. So that is what I did.
I always intended to choose something else and get a more personalized header graphic designed but somehow I just never got around to it. You know how it is. Now, as I go through Marc Milburn’s coaching course, I decided that I really must make the effort to upgrade it, to give it a bit more personality.
I have to confess I’ve just joined Marc Milburn’s Online Wealth Blueprint coaching course. I was invited to a Webinar a couple of weeks ago which featured Marc, a successful UK full-time internet marketer, with distinctive red hair! I knew of him but not much about him and at the time I certainly didn’t know he did coaching.
The Webinar turned out to be a promotion for his coaching program. Well, they are all promoting something at the end of these Webinars aren’t they? It sounded so good and he was throwing in so many bonuses at such an incredible price (never to be repeated of course!) that I was immediately hooked. It was a no-brainer.
